On your way to the salon, you can swing past the Dress Hire store and see if there is a gown in your size that is available. Your fiancé has to work, and will need to leave work a little earlier to pick up the drinks you will be ordering as soon as the liquor store opens. Hm? Perhaps order a few snacks from the delicatessen? Luckily you have arranged that the minister be available. While going through the plans for your day, you doze off. When your fiancé calls and wakes you at 11.30am, you realize you have only one and a half hours to do what would have taken...

Gone are the days when young couples could call on their parents, in particular, their mothers, to arrange and coordinate everything that goes into getting a child married.
Letting a professional make the necessary arrangements makes sense, as they are able to advise and assist you every step of the way. Obviously you would need to select your wedding planner with care. Meet with several, and ask for proposals and quotations. Personality is probably the most important factor, as both you and your partner will need to not only get on well with, but also trust your selected professional coordinator.
Your coordinator will guide you through the process, helping you draw up a budget first, as a budget will define much of what you will or will not be able to do. From the moment you enter into an agreement with your chosen coordinator, it becomes their task to get you through your wedding, and away on your honeymoon, as stress free as possible.
Based on the information you give your planner regarding your preferences, he, or she, will source the best deals for your cake, find just the right gown and tuxedo, arrange the flower-girls dresses, organize that all the flowers you need will be available, appoint the caterers, and generally ensure that all of those million and one little arrangements are made, and that they happen.
There are of course many things your coordinator cannot do for you, but will be able to advise you on. Obviously you need to be at all your gown fittings, and choosing rings is something you and your partner must do. A marital contract needs to be drawn up, and your consultant will be able to suggest a competent law professional for this task. Some planners extend their service, offering to include the honeymoon arrangements as well.
Planning a marriage ceremony and reception without the assistance of a competent and professional wedding planner is foolhardy, as these people have the experience and knowledge required to ensure that your Big Day is just that.
